Summer of Cycling on SBS
SBS’s summer of cycling begins soon, with the 2013 MARS Cycling Australia Road National Championships and Subaru 2013 Cycling Australia Track National Championships to feature.
The first event of the 2013 cycling season, the Mitchelton Bay Cycling Classic is the world’s fastest criterium series, with SBS to broadcast highlights from Tuesday 1 January, with commentary from Phil Liggett and Scott McGrory and reporting from Matt Keenan.
Victoria’s oldest and biggest road cycling race, the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, will return for its 60th edition in 2013 and SBS will show highlights of this iconic event from Thursday 3 January, with commentary from Phil Liggett and Scott McGrory and reporting from Matt Keenan.
Next, the best Australian cyclists will do battle for the green and gold jersey at the 2013 MARS Cycling Australia Road National Championships.
The Men’s Road Race will be LIVE on SBS ONE and www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral on Sunday 13 January and will feature defending champion Simon Gerrans It will be hosted by Michael Tomalaris with David McKenzie, with commentary from Phil Liggett and Matt Keenan and reporting from Alex Hinds.
Cycling Central will also be broadcast live from the Cycling Australia National Road Championships at 5pm on Sunday 13 January.
