2020 ACT Track Championships cancelled

The 2020 ACT Track Championships was originally slated for the 8th of February however it was postponed due to poor air quality. The intention was always to hold the event later in the year however, due to several factors, a decision has now been made to cancel the event.

The factors that have influenced our decision are;

  1. poor air quality, from bushfires (Seems a long time ago now),
  2. COVID-19 restrictions,
  3. the continually changing and rescheduling of the NSW and National Championships calendars, and
  4. the lack of available weekends between now and the end of the season.

However, never fear, the 2021 track racing season resumes with the start of daylight savings in the first week of October!

We aim to hold the 2021 ACT Track Championships some time in February prior to the NSW & Australian Track Championships. This will help riders to gauge their performances and assist in their preparations for the NSW and Australian Championships.

If you have never tried track racing, now is a good time to do so. It will give you an edge on the bike both in terms of skills and speed that you never knew you could possess. The clubs have a selection of track bikes that can be used, so don't let the fact that you don't own one stand in the way of having a go.
