National Junior Virtual Training Camps Launched

National Junior Virtual Training Camps Launched

With the recent date change of the 2020 Junior Road National Championships, Cycling Australia (‘CA’) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for junior riders to participate in and learn from some of the world’s top coaches and athletes via a Virtual Camp.

The Virtual Camp aims to re-connect our cycling community by presenting quality educational cycling content by experts in their field, and creating an environment to learn and develop.

In these uncertain times with many dealing with lockdown and isolation, changes in the way we communicate, plus radical changes to training programs and racing calendars, the Camp is an opportunity for riders and parents to connect.

The Camp will have a variety of exceptional presenters including Australian Cycling Team Coaches and Team Members, State Institute & Academy Coaches, and other special guests.

Groups will be separated by gender and age as detailed in the schedule.

  • September 26 2020: JW15 and JM15 :10 AM - 4 PM
  • September 27 2020: JW17 and JM17 : 10 AM - 4 PM

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be on a State Team or going to race at Junior Road Nationals to participate?  No, you simply need to be a Cycling Australia Race Member who is a J15 or J17.

Is there any specific equipment I will require? We would expect to use virtual meeting platforms (e.g. Zoom or Google Meet) and online cycling platforms.  As such a trainer, computer or tablet and stable internet connection would allow you to participate in all sessions.  It should however be noted that you are not required to participate in all sessions.
