#100 CHALLENGE

Event Description:

Women you have asked for a challenge and here it is, the #100 Challenge has arrived. This is a chance for women to show what they are really made of.  There will be rides scheduled across NSW. The event is specifically designed for women as a supported, no drop bunch ride. So whether you're new to longer distance rides or an old hand come and join these great rides. There will be rest stops to take in the views, refuel and time to enjoy a coffee and socialise. Where numbers permit bunches will be split so riders are riding with people of similar ability. Each bunch will have a ride leader and support rider. Where possible support vehicle's will follow the ride.

Age Restrictions:

Riders must be turning 17yrs old in 2020 (born 2002 or earlier)

When Can I Register:

Registrations for each ride will open throughout the year. 

Please note due to the limited spots and the large interest shown for the event, entrants are accepted on a first come basis. So get your entry in fast. If you miss the cut for the ride please contact Cycling NSW Office (02) 9738 5850 or email nsw.sport@cycling.org.au to register your name on the reserve list.

How Much Will It Cost?

Cycling Australia Members: $10 per ride

Is This Ride For Me?

Each #100 Challenge is 100km single day rides. Women who take on the challenge need to be able to ride a minimum average speed of 21km/h throughout the day in order to complete the ride.

Ride Etiquette:

Bunch riding allows people of differing skill and fitness level to be able to ride together. No matter your ability it's crucial you understand the basics of bunch etiquette. If you follow the 8 simple tips in the below attachment it will improve your riding and experience of others.

A good way to improve your Riding Etiquette before attending your first #100 Challenge Ride is to attend one of the below Women's Only Training Rides, lead by experience Ride Leaders.

 

Recommended Women's Only Training Rides:

  • Sydney Olympic Park:
    • Each Wednesday Morning: 6:00am - 7:00am
    • Meeting Point: Murray Rose Ave (Near Australia Avenue
    • Description: 45min around Sydney Olympic Park approx followed by coffee

  • Women's La Pa Ride:
    • Every 2nd Thursday 5:30am - 7:30am
    • Meeting Point: Post Office Square Cnr Silver Street & Marrickville Rd Marrickville
    • Description: Average speed of 22km/h suits novice riders. Ride is lead and mentored by experienced women ride leaders & coaches. No drop rule applies.
