About Cycling NSW

Cycling NSW is the peak body for cycling in New South Wales. We represent around 8,000 members through our network of over 60 clubs spanning all regions of our state.

We are affiliated with Cycling Australia as its largest member state.

We do things like:

  • Organising races and events
  • Training coaches and officials
  • Creating development pathways for junior cyclists
  • Liaising with government, police and other stakeholders to promote cycling
  • Making sure riders are protected with insurance
  • Sending state teams to national and international events
  • Adapting and enforcing the rules of the sport

We administer a comprehensive racing program on road and track. We offer racing from Under-9s to Masters age categories, ranging from grassroots club events to state championships and national events.

We send NSW representative teams to national championships and have proud honour roll of national champions, Australian representatives and World Championship and Olympic medallists. A number of our members ride for professional teams.

As well as racing, we are active advocates of cycling for fun, fitness and commuting.

Our cycling clubs are wonderful places for riders of all ability levels to come together and share the joy of the ride. These clubs provide bunch rides and training sessions, teaching riders how to stay safe, obey road rules, find good local cycling routes and meet like-minded cycling enthusiasts.

Our memberships are administered through Cycling Australia. A membership with Cycling NSW gives you public liability and personal accident insurance, access to races and recreational events, the ability to join a club, and exclusive member discounts.
