Ever wanted to see what it’s like to ride on an Olympic indoor velodrome? You can, with Cycling NSW Try the Track sessions.

Dunc Gray Velodrome is a state-of-the-art venue, built especially for the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The 42-degree banking provides a great challenge and really gets the adrenaline pumping. Fully enclosed, there are no concerns about bad weather cancellations.

A Try the Track session puts you under the guidance of a Cycling NSW coach. You'll learn to ride safely and confidently on the banked track. If you're up for it, you'll be able to ride at the top of the banking by the end of the session!

Sessions are available by arrangement on weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm and are designed for people who have no experience riding on a banked track. Participants must be competent riding a road or mountain bike and be able to maintain 30km/h for 5-10 minutes to negotiate the banked track.

Sessions last from 90 minutes to two hours depending on rider fitness.

Cost per person:

  • Track Hire: $20
  • Coach Fee: $50
  • Loan Bike (if you don't have a track bike): $15
