Sydney Uni Velo Club – commonly known as SUVelo - was formed in 2010 as a road cycling club dedicated to the ongoing development of its riders, whether those riders ride for fitness or competitive reasons.
We are a club within the Sydney University Sports and Fitness (SUSF) organisation and SUVelo members receive the benefits of belonging to SUSF. We are affiliated with Cycling NSW and the national cycling body.
While we bear the Sydney Uni moniker, many of our members are not or have not been students at that institution. We have no prerequisites to membership. We have graded training rides most days which are open to all members, and regular social events to which all are welcome to attend.
Although we are a young Club, we already have a strong racing presence at many venues. Of course no-one is required to race, but you will find many of our members are actively involved in racing, and there is strong competitive spirit across our bunches.
We have a progressive committee who work very hard to create a compelling and modern performance cycling environment including using the most modern communication channels.
We focus on rider development, fostering a healthy performance culture that inspires members to strive and achieve their cycling goals whether that is for fitness, skills improvement or racing achievements, in a friendly and inclusive environment.
No events have been sanctioned by Cycling NSW in 2020.
