Most members of the cycling fraternity will have heard of Everesting events. This monster challenge of racking up the accumulated height of Mt Everest in 24hrs on single hill repeats is not for the faint hearted. This April our very own James London will be attempting to Everest one of Alice Springs most famous hills.
James is the Hospital big wig when it comes to Radiography and is challenging ANZAC Hill in an effort to become a member of the exclusive Everlasting Club and to raise some much-needed funds for the Alice Springs Hospital Medical Imaging Department. According to his calculations he will need to climb ANZAC Hill 330 times to reach the same height as our tallest mountain. The distance will be 180km of leg burning effort. HIs plan is to use the opportunity to raise money, $20,000 for the Medical Imaging Department in order to purchase a new Robotic CD Burner.
James says he needs all the support he can get and is urging other cyclists to join him on his adventure- join him for one lap or a couple...
The ride will start at 3am on April 6th and will be peddling his trusty steed until the wee hours of Sunday.
