Historically, Cycling Tasmania has been an organisation that has predominantly focussed on road, track and para-cycling. However, we have recognised that cycling is a participative sport with some competitive overlays, and this has led us to change the scope of our mandate to include MTB, BMX, recreational riding, commuting, and advocacy. We all ride the same roads and trails so we face the same issues.

As an organisation we are is developing a structure to support and strengthen cycling in Tasmania and provide greater assistance to State-based Cycling Organisations. We are undertaking this development to help these organisations (associations or clubs) to grow and develop - to carry out their founding intent.

Cycling Tasmania is working with organisations to develop an overarching, long-term strategic plan & leadership model for cycling in the state of Tasmania. building a collective voice to support strategy, policies, infrastructure and support mechanisms that make cycling a safe form of transport, sport, and recreation.

Cycling Tasmania aspires to be the go-to organisation for all cycling related matters in the State.

Cycling Tasmania has two key responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow cycling in Tasmania and local communities.
  • To develop and support our members
