COVID-19 Update - June 22, 2020

In light of the spike is COVID-19 case numbers in Victoria, and more particularly the Local Government Areass of Casey, Hume and Darebin, Cycling Victoria has suspended track usage from non-HPU athletes at DISC until further notice

Cycling Victoria will review this decision in line with DHHS advice and will look to recommence with the following amendments when permitted to do so:

  • Limit attendees to 10, regardless of senior or junior training. Coach/Trainers not counted in ten but must maintain effective social distancing.
  • Parents/Guardians may attend, but must stay in the stands with a maximum of five in the front straight and five in the back straight. Siblings may accompany parents, but large family gatherings are discouraged.
  • Only use the tunnel if absolutely essential. Bikes and equipment must not be taken out of the tunnel, instead taken out via the back straight gate.
  • Supply the names of all attendees and contact numbers
  • Changerooms/Showers closed until 12 July.

AHPPC Statement:

It is critical that we are able to continue to control transmission.

The AHPPC recognised the importance of the measures taken by the Victorian Government yesterday, which seek to reduce the further spread and the development of new outbreaks.  The Victorian Government has identified the local government areas (LGAs) of Hume, Casey and Brimbank, Moreland, Cardinia and Darebin as the focus of current outbreaks of concern.  The AHPPC strongly discourages travel to and from those areas until control of community transmission has been confirmed.
