Cycling Victoria hosts a range of riding programs this school holidays aimed at teaching and increasing riding skills for both road and track cycling. The School Holiday Programs will be held at the Darebin International Sports Centre. Programs will be conducted in a safe environment away from roads.
All programs are led by qualified and experienced coaches with have a current and accredited working with children check.
Want to experience the thrill of riding a bike indoors, gliding across the boards? Have you tried an outdoor velodrome and are ready for the next step?
DISC is home to the only indoor track that is accessible year-round. The Let’s Ride Track program is run by experienced, qualified coaches who will get you fitted on a track bike, and up and onto the track. The program is safe and fun.
The program will include individual and team-based activities. Your children will have a unique experience these school holidays and leave with a big smile.

Let’s Ride Track is an exciting opportunity to get onto the boards on the indoor velodrome at DISC. For kids aged 10 years or over, you learn the skills to get going on a fixed gear bike, up onto the boards under the expert guidance of our track coaches.
Your child will also participate in fun individual and group activities that will help them to be confident riders, with skills they can use riding on and off the track.
Bikes are provided, helmets available upon request.
For kids who can ride a bike but are new to riding on the road or bike paths.
What you can expect:

The Freewheelers school holiday program is designed for kids who have never ridden a bike, never ridden without training wheels, or cannot ride more than 20 metres without stopping.
This program is run in a non-traffic location. Our knowledgeable coaches will help your child to learn the basics of riding a bike while having fun.
Each session has a 3 – 4 rider capacity, ensuring the coach can spend more time with each rider.
Bikes are not available, a helmet can be provided upon request. Training wheels must be removed for the session.
